Were they biased? Did they sway the game? Is it possible that they are actually Peyton Manning fans?
Question after question needed to be answered for the fans and the announcers that were outraged.
The truth……the refs were just proud of each other for the good job they had done on making a good call.
There was nothing at all dishonest. No unethical behavior. Just a microscope on every move in every game.
Now, press forward to the last two weeks, the Superbowl, and Deflategate.
Are you kidding me? How much time and money has been wasted on the science of air in a football?
A bigger question might be, how much money did some folks make keeping the conversation going?
Maybe it has just all gotten too big?
We’ve created opportunity in professional sports for the owners, the players, the agents, the sponsors, the bookies, Las Vegas, and so many fans to make way too much money on their game and their season.
It starts with ticket scalping and continues through every rank and file.
We’ve gotten ridiculous about every single element to the level that we question the refs on a knuckle bump!
As the money gets bigger, opportunity and greed take over. Unethical behavior runs rampant……we don’t trust anyone……….it’s embarrassing and pathetic.
How do we stop it? We can’t even slow it down, and every kid these days seems to want to be a professional athlete because even at 4, the dollar signs begin to blind us.
I think I’d like to go back to a time when playing ball was something to do because it was fun and every participant wasn’t questioned for their lack of ethics or their belief in winning at all costs.
But then…….maybe…….those days never really existed at all. It’s just in my mind.
Knuckle bump to my buddy for making a great play…………hope you can find examples of ethical behavior to celebrate on occasion…………….smiles……………..Mark Given
